Inservice Training Director directs the overall design and development of training programs, curriculum, methods, and materials for various audiences, including employees, managers, customers, or other learners. Establishes a skill assessment process to collect input and identify training or development needs, goals, gaps, and requirements. Being a Inservice Training Director consults with subject matter experts to define learning objectives and to design appropriate course content and training curriculum. Ensures curricula designs support defined competency models or skill frameworks. Additionally, Inservice Training Director develops standards and methodology to prepare high-quality outlines, syllabus, lecture notes, and materials for in-person or online courses and self-study programs. Oversees and approves the selection of software or collaboration tools used for training. Establishes the appropriate metrics to use for the evaluation of training effectiveness. Analyzes outcomes to determine ROI and recommend changes to programs and budgets. Evaluates and selects vendors to provide support, training materials, or to conduct training sessions. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a senior director. The Inservice Training Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Inservice Training Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.   • Overview: Bay Area Community Resources is looking for an innovative and experienced Training Director to join our team. The purpose of this role is to aid the professional development of new and existing employees and prepare them for delivering the highest quality service, managing others, adhering to BACR policies and practices, risk management, and safety.

    Status: Full-time, Exempt

    Responsibilities

    • Communicate with management teams and employees to identify the organization’s training needs, develop programs to address them, and implement solutions.
    • Develop a training and development plan focused on the key competencies, skills, knowledge, and values.
    • Gather feedback from trainees, trainers, and managers and monitor employee performance to understand the effectiveness of training programs.
    • Maintain records of training curriculums and assess the effectiveness of training programs through feedback from participants and supervisors.
    • Oversee the full training cycle, including assessment, development, implementation, and coordination of new and existing training programs.
    • Coordinating organization-wide training programs and employee assessments in collaboration with team members, such as other trainers, instructors, vendors, and supervisors.
    • Familiarize oneself with the organization’s policies, history, and values to ensure employee training programs align with the organization’s mission.
    • Review BACR’s current Learning Management Systems (LMS) and determine if consolidation is necessary.
    • Reviewing existing training programs to identify gaps and implementing new modules to address these gaps
    • Seeking and leveraging feedback from employees to improve training programs.
    • Ensure we are in compliance with grant contract training requirements.

    Requirements

    • Proven work experience in this or a similar role, such as Trainer, Training Facilitator, or Training Manager.
    • Experience in managing training programs in nonprofit organizations.
    • Experience with various training techniques, such as mentoring, group discussions, role-play, etc., and on-the-job training. 
    • Experience creating training material for a nonprofit organization and be capable of managing multiple training activities across the organization simultaneously.
    • Working knowledge of e-learning platforms and content authoring and delivery tools (e.g., LMS such as LinkedIn Learning, SafeSchools, and Teachable).
    • Understands the broader landscape of informal education, understands adult learning cycles, and has a firm grasp of cognitive development.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
