Inservice Training Director directs the overall design and development of training programs, curriculum, methods, and materials for various audiences, including employees, managers, customers, or other learners. Establishes a skill assessment process to collect input and identify training or development needs, goals, gaps, and requirements. Being a Inservice Training Director consults with subject matter experts to define learning objectives and to design appropriate course content and training curriculum. Ensures curricula designs support defined competency models or skill frameworks. Additionally, Inservice Training Director develops standards and methodology to prepare high-quality outlines, syllabus, lecture notes, and materials for in-person or online courses and self-study programs. Oversees and approves the selection of software or collaboration tools used for training. Establishes the appropriate metrics to use for the evaluation of training effectiveness. Analyzes outcomes to determine ROI and recommend changes to programs and budgets. Evaluates and selects vendors to provide support, training materials, or to conduct training sessions. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a senior director. The Inservice Training Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Inservice Training Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     JOB TITLE:  Program Director
     
    SUMMARY:  Coordinates, implements, and evaluates all services required  to meet the needs of individuals served.  Implements and manages programs in accordance with policy, philosophy, and compliance standards for the Day Training department and resident care issues. Assists residents and their families with personal and environmental difficulties, which predispose illness or interfere with obtaining maximum benefits from medical care by performing the following duties:
     
    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: An individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required. Other duties as assigned. 
     
    1. Maintains current working knowledge of company, facility, and Day Training Program philosophies, policies, procedures, and standards, including the implementation of social/function-oriented model of resident care.  Maintains compliance and quality control and delegates properly to obtain goals.
     
    2. Monitors services provided on in day training and residential programs as it relates to client care/needs. This includes but is not limited to: evaluating regulatory compliance through daily rounds; reviewing records; interviewing staff, residents, families and/or interested parties; reviewing 24-hour report daily to ensure adequate responses to: changes in condition, transfers, discharges, use of physical or chemical restraints, incident, injuries, potential abuse or neglect, loss of resident property, and/or resident or family dissatisfaction. Insures adequate investigation, documentation, notification/reporting and resolution of all of the above.
     
    3. Supervises and oversees case management in developing, implementing, and evaluating plans of care,  leading care conferences, communicating resident concerns and responses to interdisciplinary team members of direct care staff, serving on committees, as directed. Effectively coordinate internal and external program services and supports to facilitate the acquisition of client skills and adaptive behaviors; and promote competent interactions of staff with clients in program implementation and behavior management  
     
    4. Chair and/or active participant in committees including but not limited to: Human Rights Committee, Behavior Management, Quality Assurance, Pharmaceutical, Safety, Infection Control.
     
    5. Regularly communicates with and works with management team. Works with Executive Director/designee to: manage department budget, financial needs, availability equipment, supplies, and resources; addresses resident, family, personnel matters.
     
    6. Develops and implements staffing plan to meet case management and direct care needs. Recommends quantity and type of day training personnel necessary to provide care and comply with facility and regulatory requirements.
     
    7. Participates with Executive Director in survey processes by: instructing staff regarding conduct and disclosure, reporting, being present at all times surveyors are on-site, directing prompt responses to requests for information, and undertaking corrective action, if appropriate.
     
    8. Educates and promotes understanding of social and emotional factors underlying resident health conditions. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: collaborating with physicians/health care personnel regarding resident treatment and evaluation; assisting residents, families and legal representatives regarding medical recommendations, consent, changes in condition, and to encourage family participation in developing plan of care. 
     
    9. Performs quality assessment and assurance functions, including but not limited to: regulatory compliance rounds to monitor performance and to continuously improve quality. Assists with implementation of programs to gather and analyze data for trends and to institute actions to resolve problems promptly. Reports and makes recommendations to appropriate committee.
     
    10. Assists with admission and discharge processes. This includes but is not limited to: networking with agencies and community for marketing and recruitment of appropriate referrals, assisting with preadmission and care planning for admissions, evaluating residents for discharge potential, provision of discharge planning services to reflect resident and family preferences for care, coordination of post discharge care and services, coordination of  transportation, access to and payment for services. Prepares discharge summary for release to authorized persons and agencies. 
     
    11. Observes safety practices. This includes but is not limited to: assisting with work place safety compliance; promptly and appropriately reporting potential safety concerns, incidents, and/or injuries; participating in fire and disaster drills. In an emergency, carries out assigned duties to assure resident and employee safety, perform daily rounds of the Center to inspect care environment. 
     
    12. Timely and accurately maintain proper documentation. This includes but is not limited to: recording progress notes in the clinical record, audit clinical records and maintaining personnel records. 
     
    13. Assists with development and update of policies and procedures to reflect the philosophy of the facility, professional standards, and legal requirements. 
     
    14. Maintains and applies current skills and knowledge through continuing education and in-service programs. 
     
    15. Ability to read and interpret technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from residents, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to present information to management effectively. Must be able to speak, understand and read the English language to the extent necessary to safely and properly care for residents.
     
    16. Excellent interpersonal skills with high level of energy and enthusiasm. Ability to organize, document, and implement detailed programs. Good verbal and written communication skills. Must maintain a sense of professionalism in regard to dress, language, and conduct. 
     
    17. This position requires standing, sitting, stooping, pushing, pulling, lifting up to 25 pounds or more, bending, climbing, twisting upper body, walking, running, carrying, listening, talking, use of telephone, and exposure to medical equipment and persons with risk of illness.
     
     
    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Directly supervises employees of day training department and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the facility policies, practices, procedures, and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Indirect supervisor of nursing, activity and other assistants as their job functions relate to resident
    care and program delivery. Must consistently use discretion and independent judgment.  
     
    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:  RN or Bachelor’s Degree in professional health related field as defined by Illinois QIDP Registry and at least two years of experience working with persons with intellectual disabilities required. Supervisory experience preferred.  Strong computer skills preferred. Meets state and federal requirements. 
     
    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: 
    Must meet and maintain status on QIDP Registry.  Meet requirements for DSP Training, QIDP Trainer and Certified Human Rights Committee Chairperson. CPR and First Aid certification. Driver's license per facility requirements preferred.
