Inservice Training Director directs the overall design and development of training programs, curriculum, methods, and materials for various audiences, including employees, managers, customers, or other learners. Establishes a skill assessment process to collect input and identify training or development needs, goals, gaps, and requirements. Being a Inservice Training Director consults with subject matter experts to define learning objectives and to design appropriate course content and training curriculum. Ensures curricula designs support defined competency models or skill frameworks. Additionally, Inservice Training Director develops standards and methodology to prepare high-quality outlines, syllabus, lecture notes, and materials for in-person or online courses and self-study programs. Oversees and approves the selection of software or collaboration tools used for training. Establishes the appropriate metrics to use for the evaluation of training effectiveness. Analyzes outcomes to determine ROI and recommend changes to programs and budgets. Evaluates and selects vendors to provide support, training materials, or to conduct training sessions. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a senior director. The Inservice Training Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Inservice Training Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     About the Role
    Responsible to oversee PREMIER's internal training program (PREMIER University). Partners with PREMIER leadership to ensure PREMIER culture and values are engrained within our Training. Oversees and manages skills-based training, new employee onboarding for First PREMIER Bank, and instructional design for regulatory and professional development courseware.

    Job Duties and Responsibilities

    • Ensure PREMIER’s vision, views, values and brand are properly represented in all PREMIER training, safeguarding our culture and positioning us to lead within the markets we serve.
      • Coordinate with Marketing to ensure PREMIER training content is crafted in a manner that supports PREMIER Corporate Communications and branding objectives.
      • Design and manage all communications for PREMIER University and First PREMIER Bank training, effectively promoting, coordinating and communicating training requirements and opportunities through the corporate Intranet site.
      • Encourage greater knowledge sharing across PREMIER via collaborative discussions, sharing of lessons learned, best practices, training solutions and shared resources.
      • Demonstrate an understanding of customer experience knowledge, technologies and tactics; and banking transformation trends to support employee professional development.
    • Oversee PREMIER University, working in direct partnership with First PREMIER Bank and PREMIER Bankcard executive leadership.
      • Develop the strategy and budget for PREMIER University and oversee training programs that support the professional growth, leadership and advancement of PREMIER employees.
      • Design and implement communication strategies that effectively align and engage employees in required and voluntary PREMIER University courses.
      • Evaluate and secure executive speakers, coaches and trainers to support professional development for all employees.
      • Establish parameters and monitor PREMIER University courses to maintain a high-value employee experience.
      • Work in partnership with HR and executive leadership to continually refine the PREMIER onboarding strategy, ensuring it reflects our culture and properly prepares employees for work.
      • Maintain strong relationships with Compliance to ensure key policies and procedures are reflected and continually updated in training and coursework materials.
      • Establish strong relationships with PREMIER Bankcard trainers and develop positive communication and collaboration to share knowledge and best practices. 
    • Manage and oversee First PREMIER Bank skills-based training in partnership with Business Lines.
      • Oversee the Bank’s employee onboarding strategy, process and training execution.
      • Design skills-based training programs to support the Bank’s various business lines.
      • Leverage an understanding of each business line’s strategic objectives and use this understanding to design training plans that:
        • Enable the Bank to develop a talent bench that supports company growth and change.
        • Prepare Bank employees for new opportunities by targeting the necessary development and improvement of specific behaviors, skills and knowledge required for continued growth.
        • Empower teams to turn strategic initiatives into actionable and accountable behaviors.
        • Incorporate deliberate coaching and mentoring of leadership and staff, where appropriate.
      • Leverage an understanding of how emerging technologies, tools, trends and legislation intersect to impact banking and how to shape PREMIER training to produce “future bankers.”
      • Work collaboratively with business lines to identify skills-based trainers and engage internal subject-matter experts who can support training delivery.
      • Work with Customer Care and Retail Banking to evaluate APECS survey data, measure training efficacy and identify knowledge or training gaps.
      • Ensure managers understand how to develop personalized training tracks that support employee success by leveraging PREMIER University courseware, skill-based training and certifications.
    • Develop and manage an infrastructure for training operations and reporting.
      • Play an essential role as an advocate for change management and workforce empowerment, supporting the introduction of new strategies and people, process and technology-related changes.
      • Determine criteria to evaluate incoming requests, establishing priority, resolution path, timing and next steps, working with executive leadership and business leaders, as appropriate.
      • Leverage industry and market knowledge to enhance training technology and execution:
        • Develop business cases and requirements for new tools and service providers.
        • Lead vendor research, assessment and selection.
        • Manage vendors providing training services and technologies.
      • Assess, measure and report progress and results to appropriate stakeholders.
        • Establish, document and maintain high-quality standards and evaluation methods for instructional design for all methods of in-person and virtual training.
        • Leverage existing data to develop improvement plans and refine training where insufficiencies or gaps are noted.
        • Establish dashboards and reports that support an executive summary.
        • Identify and establish KPIs and metrics that verify knowledge transfer, employee satisfaction and ROI.

    Skills and Qualifications

    • A bachelor’s degree in business, Organizational Development or related field preferred, or 5 years’ experience in training, professional development and instructional design required.
    • Experience with financial services, banking transformation and/or experience within a regulatory/compliance-driven environment highly preferred.
    • Highly motivated self-starter comfortable leading and managing in the listed areas of responsibility.
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals and leadership within and outside direct authority.
    • Excellent communication skills, including presentation, written and verbal communication skills.
    • Must be able to read and interpret financial data, as well as the ability to proof written material.
    • Proficiency using Word, Excel, PowerPoint and UKG.
    • Organized, self-motivated and capable of working in a rapidly changing environment with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of management.
    • Training strategy and instructional design skills are required.
    • Exceptional communication skills including public speaking, presentation, oral and written communication with strong English proficiency.
    • Computer skills.
    • Ability to concentrate and work independently.
    • Attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Capacity to learn, adapt to change and become proficient quickly.
