Inside Sales Manager oversees the activities of sales representatives with an assigned territory or portfolio of existing customers that primarily conduct remote sales calls. Coordinates closely with marketing and field sales to gather insights and understand customers' unique needs, market conditions, and competitors. Being an Inside Sales Manager develops sales strategies and supporting activities, including renewals, special offers, and discounts. Provides appropriate product information to meet the needs of individual customers, support upselling, and achieve sales targets. Additionally, Inside Sales Manager trains and coaches staff in selling and relationship-building skills needed to grow and maintain sales pipelines. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Inside Sales Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be an Inside Sales Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Counter Inside Sales:
    As key individual for inside sales you are the primary contact for the customers both on the phone and the front counter. Most of the time you are the first impression the customer receives from Gold Country Hydraulics. In saying this you will need to be friendly, confident, and knowledgeable so that this person receives the product or information they require. This also requires maintaining the looks of yourself, the showroom and front office counter for a positive impression for customers, vendor reps or business professionals. When answering the phone try and say good morning, afternoon, etc. this is “your name” may I help you. At the front counter don’t be afraid to introduce yourself and let our customers know that you are new here. Always ask for help from fellow employees so that you can learn, and we can get the customer taken care of quickly.
    You may need to do some research on specialized products that you need for a customer. These will be on items that will require your knowledge and the help of a vendor technical department to figure out what will work for your application. Make sure you keep all your notes of whom you talked to, part numbers and prices so that when it is forwarded to purchase it is all together. You will need to keep accurate records of sales calls and quotes in your logbook so that anyone can refer to them and understand the content. Make sure that you always maintain a clean and organized workspace so that nothing is misplaced.
    You will be responsible for reviewing the “Will Call” and “On Order” files weekly. This is to make sure that parts did not leave the premises without the paperwork being invoiced or having parts on order that could be invoiced before the order is complete. Also compare the parts on the shelf to paperwork in the files. This will maintain a positive cash flow for the company. For items that are in will call and have been there for some time, you will need to call the customer and advise them that their parts are here and/or ask if they would like us to ship these items to the them with a freight charge.
    You must write a note on the sales order noting the date and time you called the customer, who you spoke with and what the outcome was (advised customer parts are here or left word to call on voicemail) and initial the note.
    Inventory Management:
    • The counter person is responsible for inventory control. The management of the inventory is part of your duties also. This would entail making sure the stock levels are correct for the time of year we are in, new items that we need to stock are ordered and any dead inventory is put on sale in the showroom or returned.
    • If you empty a box that contains a very popular item, you will need to reorder it.
    • You are responsible for making sure that the items on the “Return to Stock” and “Return to Vendor” shelves are completed in a timely manner. This may mean finding out who put the parts on the shelf and giving them back to this person to fill out the appropriate paperwork. There is no reason to have items that should be put into inventory sitting in the shipping and receiving department for more than a couple of days maximum.
