Inside Sales Representative is responsible for an assigned territory or portfolio of customers to target for remote sales development calls. Coordinates with field sales team members to understand customers' unique needs and potential sales opportunities. Being an Inside Sales Representative reaches out to customers to promote new and existing products and services, offer special discounts and promotions, or provide essential account management services. Selects appropriate product information to meet the needs of individual customers, support upselling, and achieve sales targets. Additionally, Inside Sales Representative develops connections with customers and may conduct field visits. May participate in sales efforts as part of a larger team. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Inside Sales Representative work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role.   • The Santa Barbara Fish Market has been Santa Barbara’s leading purveyor of fresh and frozen seafood for more than 25 years. We have been the premier offloader of Santa Barbara fish and shellfish supplying restaurants, hotels, and distributors across the country.

    We are currently looking for an experienced sales professional to grow our business locally and nationwide. We are looking for someone who can grow our brand by developing new business in markets outside of Santa Barbara. You will be responsible for promoting and selling seafood products to restaurants, hotels, grocery stores, and other food service establishments.

    Your primary goal is to increase sales revenue, build strong relationships with new and existing accounts, and ensure customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate has a background in seafood sales and experience and knowledge of seafood products.

    Responsibilities:

    • Acquire new clients locally and across the country.
    • Maintain and expand existing client relationships through regular communication and visits.
    • Identify business opportunities by aggressive prospects and lead generation.
    • Work with your customers daily to receive orders and input into our system.
    • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop sales strategies and promotional campaigns.
    • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences to identify growth opportunities.
    • Coordinate with the logistics team to ensure timely delivery of orders and resolve any issues or concerns.
    • Visit your customers as needed to maintain strong relationships, and grow existing sales.

    Requirements:

    • Proven experience in seafood sales or a similar role within the food industry.
    • Excellent phone communication, and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong sales acumen with a track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
    • Knowledge of seafood products, including different varieties, quality standards, and handling procedures.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Proficiency in Google Suite, and Microsoft Office.
    • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as needed.
    • Experience working directly with chefs/food purchasers.

    Plus:

    • An existing book of restaurant and food service accounts.
    • Understanding of fishing practices, species, and sustainability.
    • Currently living in Santa Barbara area
    • Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field (preferred).
    • Working knowledge of NetYield.
    • Understanding of FedEx and Air-Freight logistics.
    • Chef experience.
    • Bilingual
    • A passion for seafood/food.
