Inside Sales Representative is responsible for an assigned territory or portfolio of customers to target for remote sales development calls. Coordinates with field sales team members to understand customers' unique needs and potential sales opportunities. Being an Inside Sales Representative reaches out to customers to promote new and existing products and services, offer special discounts and promotions, or provide essential account management services. Selects appropriate product information to meet the needs of individual customers, support upselling, and achieve sales targets. Additionally, Inside Sales Representative develops connections with customers and may conduct field visits. May participate in sales efforts as part of a larger team. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Inside Sales Representative work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Actively engages in selling company products/services and related items. Provides material estimates and quotes for small packages (stairs, decks, fences, sheds, etc.).  Enters orders into system and schedules delivery of products. Plans and paces own work efficiency in order to meet daily, weekly, project, or team related productivity goals. Participates in coordinating and conducting customer workshops. Handles and resolves simple customer complaints and forwards more complex issues to more senior staff for resolution. Assists with store housekeeping, signage, stocking, inventory control, and other related activities. Understands and observes all safety procedures and practices in order to prevent injury to self or co-workers; attends periodic safety meetings as required; may recommend changes to improve safety procedures. Other duties may be assigned.   SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES   This job has no supervisory responsibilities.   MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and six (6) months sales-related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.    COMPETENCIES   Knowledge of company products, competitor’s products and company standards Knowledge of company product pricing, discount and estimating formulas and guidelines Good verbal and written communication skills Demonstrates strong detail orientation skills Strong customer service skills Knowledge of basic sales techniques, concepts and the ability to influence and persuade Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and an enterprise resource planning (ERP) program Knowledge of and ability to use motorized and non-motorized material handling equipment   WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL ACTIVITY The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.   Subject to both typical office environment and outside locations with temperature and weather variations. Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds frequently and on occasion up to 80 pounds. Standing or walking for 80% of the day.  Stooping and kneeling throughout the day.  Occasionally will use hand tools, saws, forklift, pallet jack to assist customers.
