Sendzimir, Inc. is a 65 year old Engineering Firm located in Waterbury, Connecticut and is involved in the design and development of heavy machinery to roll sheet strip steel - especially stainless steel and high alloys. Our firm has customers world-wide with about 25% of its business in the USA. Our company designs and manufactures equipment for rolling mills as well as other unique industrial applications.     Our typical business cycle involves large projects with a long sales cycle. We also have a significant business in spare parts, Technical support, and on location service – all with much shorter sales cycles.

    Accountability Objective

    This position will support our current Sales Team with a variety of Sales and Customer service related tasks.

    Job skills must include standard secretarial job skills such as letter writing, assisting with the formatting of technical specifications and quotations, interface with customers over the phone and via email while also providing support to the Sales Team. A high level of organization and detail is required.

    Sales & Customer Service Representative Immediate Supervision

    The Sales & Customer Service Representative will report to the President of the company. In his absence, the Sales Engineer will report to the Office Manager.

    Nature and Scope of Job Responsibilities

    The major challenge of this position is the supporting the Sales Team during the development of sales projects from inception to final order placement. It is imperative that the applicant have the ability to work on several projects at once and remain focused on the important issues at hand without becoming lost in the details.

    Standard duties include a base line knowledge of Microsoft Office 2010 – all programs. Other skills required are a good understanding of telephone etiquette as well as basic organizational skills for projects and internal correspondence.

    Energetic, dynamic personality with solution based attitude, preferably with college education and / or several years job experience. Must have ability to multi-task numerous jobs and remember to go back to the priority task. Needs to learn to anticipate the job needs in advance of the time they are required. We are specifically looking for the right personality for the job as well as the basic secretarial job skills.

    1. Customer call back, quotation follow up
    2. Inside sales support for salesmen
    3. Assist with the preparation of Quotations including written sales letters with description of scope of supply and commercial terms, et cetera
    4. Maintenance/data entry for technical data database for use by the sales and engineering department
    5. Support and Maintain Sales Department activities in a highly organized and detailed manner

    Qualifications:

    1. Previous sales experience is preferred
    2. Knowledge of Blueprint reading.
    3. Strong analytical and excellent organizational skills.
    4. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
    5. Must be capable of working under minimal supervision
