Installation & Maintenance Technician Director directs the installation, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing of switches, cables, and other telecommunications equipment in the field to ensure optimum network usage and quality. Ensures compliance to customer specifications and company requirements. Being an Installation & Maintenance Technician Director leads all functions and ensures they are completed on time and within budget. Oversees the scheduling of installation and maintenance services. Additionally, Installation & Maintenance Technician Director requires a bachelor's degree or its equivalent. Typically reports to top management. The Installation & Maintenance Technician Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. · Essential function of the job requires you to climb ladders. You must be able to meet manufacturer’s safety requirements on equipment used. Candidate’s body weight 25 lbs of tools/equipment must not exceed 375 pounds.
· Be able to lift 60-80 pounds and climb 28–36-foot ladders
· Work could be performed in environments that are not heated or air conditioned, and work may be inside or outside, not dependent of weather
· Work could require kneeling, crawling, bending or other positions that may be uncomfortable
· A valid driver’s license
· Be able to pass a pre-employment drug test, criminal background check and motor vehicle driving record check
· Be able to work a flexible schedule that includes weekends or evenings
· Willing to drive to Bloomington, IL for training. (Hotel and expenses provided if your distance qualifies.)
