Installation & Maintenance Technician Director directs the installation, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing of switches, cables, and other telecommunications equipment in the field to ensure optimum network usage and quality. Ensures compliance to customer specifications and company requirements. Being an Installation & Maintenance Technician Director leads all functions and ensures they are completed on time and within budget. Oversees the scheduling of installation and maintenance services. Additionally, Installation & Maintenance Technician Director requires a bachelor's degree or its equivalent. Typically reports to top management. The Installation & Maintenance Technician Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     Position Summary:

    • Must work well under stress or tight deadlines.
    • Must work well with supervisors, co-workers, patients/residents, family members and visitors.
    • Organizes and performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled duties in construction, repair and maintenance of the hospital’s physical plant and equipment with or without supervision from the Facilities Director.

    Position Duties/Responsibility:

    • Repairs and maintains: plumbing, electrical, HVAC, ice machines, kitchen equipment, patient beds, furniture, vacuum systems, medical gas systems, emergency diesel powered generating and transfer cases.
    • Performs general building maintenance including carpentry, painting, plastering, and minor construction projects.
    • Assist with the Equipment Management Plan.
    • Makes building rounds and is consistently alert to needed repairs, replacements and unsafe conditions.
    • Operates a motor vehicle.
    • Reads, understands and uses technical specifications and catalogs for the installation, repairing and completing preventive maintenance of equipment.
    • Maintains logs and records maintenance repairs or alterations to equipment.
    • Performs electrical safety checks on equipment, electrical outlets and fixtures.
    • Performs inspections of the Fire alarm System including fire extinguishers, and sprinkler systems.
    • Knows basic computer skills.
    • Uses proper safety precautions and personal equipment.
    • Follows all JCAHO, Life Safety Code, California Building Code, and NFPA guidelines and regulations.
    • Occasionally required to work other than normal hospital hours as assigned including overtime, weekends and/or holidays.
    • Frequently required to work on call weekends, holidays or as assigned.

    Essential Functions:

    • Proper methods, materials, tools and equipment used in the maintenance trade.
    • Electrical and mechanical measuring instruments.

    • Ability to follow simple blue prints, drawings, oral and written directions.
    • Ability to respond quickly to changing demands.
    • Ability to work alone and with very little supervision.
    • The ability to be supervised.
    • The ability to work as a Team.
    •  The ability to have positive personal interactions with staff, patients/residents and visitors.

    Position Qualifications:

    • Education: Education and/or job related experience dealing with electrical, mechanical, plumbing and structural engineering issues. 
    • Experience: Experience in public or health care facility general maintenance.                          
    • Licenses/Certifications: CA driver’s license with driving record acceptable to the District’s vehicle insurer.
    • Skills/Ability: Electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and carpentry.
    • LVMC reserves the right to modify the minimum requirements depending on the needs of the organization.
