I’m working with a leading manufacturer of Plastic products, based in Garfield, NJ and they are looking for a Maintenance Technician to join their team on 1st shift. This is an international client that have flourished in recent years and hiring quite heavily at the moment to take the next steps in their expansion.

Successful candidates will perform preventive maintenance for optimum machine conditions and having the ability to learn activities associated with the extrusion process of thermoplastic materials in order to meet or exceed Customers Expectations.
Responsibilities
· Perform preventive maintenance procedures
· Perform some fork lift maintenance and repairs and be able to operate a fork lift
· Personally own tools of the trade
· Keep production lines and all related equipment in good operating condition
· Perform other duties as assigned
· Perform facility related compliance issues as directed
· Perform routine maintenance, corrective actions and troubleshoot in normal operations
· Ensure sprinkler control valves remain open throughout any fire
· Change DC electric motor brushes, rubber roll bearings, pump seals, chrome rolls and bearings
Qualifications
· High School Diploma/Equivalent
· Minimum 2 years industrial Maintenance Experience
· Previous plastic manufacturing experience desirable
· Extrusion/ injection blow molding experience desirable
· Possess the ability to read, write and perform basic math functions.
· Be able to follow written and verbal instructions, making time efficient decisions; performing all these duties with little to no supervision.
· Be capable of taking corrective action on problems which may arise.
· The ability to troubleshoot and repair basic plumbing, electrical and carpentry work using all related tools necessary for the job.
· The ability to use tape measure, micrometer, dial indicator, feeler gauge, calipers and amp/volt meter as well as using mig and stick welder and acetylene torch.
