Overview

The Sr. Maintenance Technician will report to the Sr. Team Leader, Maintenance Team Leader, or Maintenance Lead on a respective shift. The Sr. Maintenance Technician will perform day-to-day maintenance activities of the Bay Center Food building, equipment, and/or common areas of the site. Maintenance operates 3 shifts per day, 7 days per week.

This role will work closely with the Sr. Team Leader of Maintenance, Maintenance Team Leader, and Maintenance Lead, as well as interact with operations team members, plant employees, distribution, equipment operators, maintenance planner, as well as the Safety and Quality Teams.

Bay Center Foods, LLC is a wholly owned subsidiary of Chick-fil-A, Inc., and is an innovative manufacturing hub created to serve the operator by removing complexity from the Chick-fil-A® restaurants. Bay Center Foods ensures restaurants have lemon juice on-demand and is constantly exploring new ways to serve. 

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay scale for this position is $ 43.25 - 48.08 per hour. This pay scale takes into account a wide range of business factors and may change over time.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily inspections, preventative, reactive and predictive maintenance of the facility and equipment
• Maintain equipment in accordance with manufacturer specs, work order instructions, and warranty agreements
• Escalate maintenance issues that cannot be resolved in a timely manne
• Perform maintenance activities in a reliable and cost-effective manner in compliance with safety, quality, compliance requirements and industry standards, and BCF's SOPs
• Identify reoccurring problems impacting asset life and identify possible solutions
• Analyze work order management, financial, and operational data using MES and Computerized Maintenance Management System
• Perform off-shift critical work and emergency repairs when needed

• Participate in the selection of spare parts, tools, and equipment necessary to support the maintenance operations; help determine inventory levels and quantities of spare parts required
• Ensure maintenance and facilities management records are properly maintained and safeguarded
• Support BCF initiatives to grow excellence and continuously improve

• Support the coordination and communication with site leadership to discuss/coordinate activities that might impact each other from an operational and safety standpoint
• Potential to be required to act as Maintenance Lead on weekend shifts

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma
• 7 years of experience in maintenance within food manufacturing and distribution operations or similar operations
• Proficiency in equipment maintenance, mechanical design, and assembly
• Multi skilled in both electrical and mechanical disciplines, including hydraulic maintenance, with trouble-shooting experience
• Experience with blueprints and shop drawings
• Possesses an uncompromising commitment to food safety for customers and overall safety for the organization and its employees
• Self-starter with ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Experience leading and coaching maintenance teams
• Availability for on-call support and shift flexibility, as needed
• Team player, also able to work independently when necessary
• Excellent written/verbal communication, problem-solving and multitasking skills; Intermediate computer skills

Preferred Qualifications

• 10 years of experience in maintenance within food manufacturing and distribution operations or similar operations; 2 years of experience in a supervisory role
• Bachelor’s or associate degree; certified maintenance technician
• Engineering background and automation maintenance experience, including trouble-shooting experience
• Prior Building Systems, Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems, High Speed Manufacturing Equipment, Food and Beverage, Refrigeration, and Robotics experience beneficial
• Prior experience in the use of MES and CMMS
