Overview:
We are seeking a skilled laborer willing to assist in floor covering installation. As a Flooring Installer, you will be responsible for assist in installing various types of flooring materials and ensuring high-quality workmanship. This position will be temporary for the summer months, with the possibility of continued employment beyond August.
Duties:
-Assist installer with Installing a wide range of flooring materials, including carpet, hardwood, laminate, vinyl, and tile
- Measure and cut flooring materials to fit specific areas
- Prepare subfloors by removing old flooring, leveling surfaces, and repairing any damages
- Install underlayment and moisture barriers as needed
- Lay out flooring patterns and designs according to blueprints or customer preferences
- Use appropriate tools and equipment to install flooring materials accurately and efficiently, including tape measure, knife, and power tools
- Ensure proper alignment and tight seams between flooring pieces
- Trim excess material and finish edges with appropriate molding or trim
- Clean up work area and remove any debris or waste materials
Experience:
To be successful in this role, you should have the following skills and qualifications:
- Ability to perform manual labor, including lifting 50 lbs
- Physically able to be on your feet, or knees for long periods of time
- Proficient at reading a tape measure
- Able to run power tools and willing to learn to use new types of equipment
- Able to take directions from Installers who will provide guidance on the job site
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality workmanship
- Have a Valid Drivers License
