Position Summary

The Office of Institutional Effectiveness and Assessment is seeking a Graduate Assistant (GA) interested in institutional research. The GA will provide support to the Associate Vice President of Institutional Effectiveness and Assessment for the institutional reporting of data and information to internal and external stakeholders, to include accrediting agencies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

• Providing support for the institutional reporting of data to accrediting agencies as well as state and federal agencies
• Creating tables and charts for reports, publications, and presentations
• Assisting with the completion of external surveys
• Assisting with the administration of surveys to students, faculty, and staff
• Helping respond to ad hoc requests for data.

Required Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

Must understand and support the Mission, Vision and Code of Ethical Conduct of Walsh University, as a Catholic higher education university as expressed in Ex Corde Ecclesiae, and possess the following:

Applicants for this position will need to have an undergraduate degree and be enrolled as a full-time graduate student.

Education: Baccalaureate or equivalent degree in educational research, business administration, communications, arts and sciences, social sciences, or other related field with strong analytical skills. Must be enrolled as a Walsh graduate student at time of employment.

Work Experience: Thorough knowledge of research procedures used in higher education research.

Skills and abilities:

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Excellent attention to detail with strong editing skills
• Ability to communicate effectively (both orally and in writing)
• Strong technical skills including data entry and experience working with the MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Ability to work collaboratively or independently.
• Ability to interact with faculty, staff, and students in a positive manner.
• Ability to deliver quality work in response to deadlines.
