Institutional Research Director - Assistant assists in directing and overseeing institutional research for a university/college. Designs and leads institutional research studies evaluating the effectiveness of the organization's programs and policies. Being an Institutional Research Director - Assistant manages data collection and analysis and oversees the formulation of research reports. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Institutional Research Director - Assistant typically reports to Institutional Research Director. The Institutional Research Director - Assistant typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     This position is only available for federal work study eligible LCCC students enrolled in at least 6 credit hours for the Spring 2023 semester. You will need a resume to complete your application.

     

    Job Summary:

    Core responsibilities of this position include: The Office Assistant, Institutional Research (IR), provides administrative support to IR staff. Core responsibilities of this position include: •              Designing spreadsheets•              Producing summary tables and graphs•              Entering survey data•              Preparing mailings•              Performing office tasks such as filing and errands

    Other tasks may be assigned based on contemporary institutional need.

     

    Start Date: As soon as practical after the hiring process.

     

    Compensation: $15.03 per hour. Commensurate with experience.

    Essential Functions

    • Design spreadsheets
    • Produce summary tables and graphs
    • Enter survey data
    • Prepare mailings
    • Perform office tasks such as filing and errands

    Nonessential Functions:  

    An employee in this position may perform some of these responsibilities on an infrequent basis:

    • Perform office tasks for college employees, not members of the IR staff, in the same physical location, if workload permits.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Intermediate knowledge of and skills in using Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word

    • Strong computer skills

    • Good communications skills

    • Good organizational skills

    • To successfully perform the essential functions of this position, an employee must be able to maintain appropriate composure and necessary confidentiality with regard to both past and current employee, student, and donor data; documents; issues; etc., and respect privacy needs of employees, students, donors
    • While performing the essential duties of this position, an employee would frequently be required to move around the assigned work space as well as within hallways, meeting rooms, and other parts of the campus facilities.
    • There may be multiple/daily instances of prolonged personal computer use which would include keyboard and/or mouse usage as well as viewing a computer monitor.
    • Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.
    • The overall work environment requires the mental ability to shift focal point quickly due to interruptions; an employee must be able to mentally track multiple projects and tasking as well.
    • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate; however, there may be unexpected instances of somewhat loud sounds.

     

     

    Qualifications

    Minimum:

    • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
    • Current LCCC student and continued enrollment in a minimum of 6 credits a semester, (exceptions may be given for summer term with supervisor approval)
    • Federal Work Study eligible. Students may speak with the LCCC Student Hub and Financial Aid to determine if they are Federal Work Study eligible

    Preferred:

    • One year of experience in an office setting working with Microsoft Office Software. (Excel, Word, Etc.)

    If you are selected for the position, your appointment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check. LCCC reserves the right to end this employment agreement should the results of your background investigation not be successful.
