     Institutional Research & Reporting (IRR) Data Coordinator

    (Temporary part-time position until AY24 (July 1, 2024))

    SALARY:

     

    $21.78 to $27.21 per hour, the posted hourly range represents the minimum to the midpoint within RVU’s compensation plan. RVU’s full compensation structure provides a minimum to a maximum range.  The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to skill, knowledge, experience, education, and credentials.

    Primary Purpose

    With guidance from and in collaboration with the Institutional Research and Reporting (IRR) Manager, the IRR Data Coordinator performs a variety of functional support duties with regard to institutional data. Using databases and various other software programs to complete tasks, the Coordinator assists with extracting, compiling, and reporting institutional data related to institutional effectiveness in support of decision-making processes, quality improvement, and external reporting requirements. Ideal entry-level position for candidates wanting to enter the institutional research and analytics field. 

    Essential Job Functions

    • Fulfills internal requests for institutional data (e.g., student enrollment, demographics, research projects). Maintains and manages the electronic data request queue.  
    • Works with internal stakeholders and data partners on creating and extracting reports from various systems and databases.
    • Assists with reporting processes related to student outcomes, course evaluations, and key performance indicators.
    • Assists with generation and maintenance of accurate and current institutional data related to institutional effectiveness and other mission critical institutional reports.
    • Provides input into the design, construction, implementation, and maintenance of data flow, management, processes, and user access.

    Marginal Job Functions

    • Maintains IRR web pages to include accurate and timely updates, dashboards, and various reports.
    • Perform other related duties as assigned to include committee and team participation.

    Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • Skill in the use of current Microsoft Office software, particularly Excel, Word, or Access. Knowledge of enterprise and warehousing databases and/or technology a plus.
    • Ability to perform routine and moderately complex tasks rapidly and accurately.
    • Ability to understand and convey procedures and regulations established.
    • Ability to perform basic data entry, extraction, and compiling procedures.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information.
    • Ability to maintain effective and collegial working relationship with others.
    • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • An Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience and 2 years of progressively responsible experience related to the duties specified are required. 

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience working with large datasets, data entry, and importing/exporting between systems.
    • Efficient and accurate data extraction, compiling, tracking, and monitoring skills.
    • Experience helping others locate, access, and use data for reporting needs.
