The Morgridge Institute for Research seeks a Student Lab Assistant to work in Dr. Jing Fan’s Metabolism lab.
Responsibilities include:
We are looking for a student who can start by May and is willing to work in the lab for 1 year or more. The workload would be ~5 hours / week in this spring semester, and will be up to 15 hours a week, starting after the spring semester when our current student lab assistant graduates. Hours are flexible but should consist of approximately 3-4 shifts spread throughout the week during normal working hours (~8-6 PM). There is also a potential for independent study for students who show initiative and work well in this position.
Requirements
Ideal candidates will be working towards a bachelor's degree with a science focus. Prior knowledge and experience with lab equipment or animal husbandry is preferred, but not required (candidates will be trained for the tasks). Candidates must be detail-oriented, demonstrate the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively and they must be able to multitask and work in a timely manner.
