Additionally, Institutional Research Director typically reports to a head of a department. The Institutional Research Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be an Institutional Research Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Title: Part-time Institutional Research Assistant
Department: Institutional Research
Campus: Queens
Responsibilities:
Assist in gathering and coordinating data to complete external surveys for publications with members of the university community.
Preparation and dissemination of reports and data requests and presentations as needed.
Support in maintaining Institutional Research’s website; upload reports and documents as necessary.
Assist with our front desk including answering the phone/taking messages and other necessary tasks that help the office run smoothly.
Filing, scanning, and other office duties as assigned.
Support University-wide initiatives in the maintenance of the Integrity of University Data.
Perform related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent work experience
1-2 years of experience in an administrative office (or equivalent)
A high degree of competency in Microsoft Office Suite particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Must have great attention to detail; good organizational skills; verbal and written communication skills; ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple projects simultaneously and strong follow-through skills.
Knowledge of Adobe Acrobat is a plus.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Work Schedule: approximately 20 hours a week
In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the hourly salary for this position is $22.00/hr. St. John’s University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
This position may be relocated to any of St. John’s University’s physical locations at any time.
