Instructional Technology Specialist supports faculty members utilizing information technology in support of teaching and learning. Develops computer training materials and assists in teaching how to set up and use computer applications and related technologies. The Quality Engineer II must have the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities, utilize analytical problem-solving skills, and efficiently function independently as well as in a team environment.
A bachelor’s degree in engineering and a minimum of five to seven years engineering experience in organizational quality (customer and/or supplier), continuous improvement ideologies or equivalent education and experience is required. A strong working knowledge of quality tools and the ability to draw conclusions based on data using formal root cause analysis tools. Strong human relations skills and excellent written/oral communication skills are a necessity. Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) and how it applies to product/process capability would be beneficial. Knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process utilizing the following: PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plan, MSA, Capability Studies is required. Intermediate level MS Office user with strong knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Access applications.

The Quality Engineer II is responsible for providing value to the organization by contributing leadership, planning, and technical knowledge to ensure compliance with company, customer, and governmental quality specifications and regulations.
VI. RESPONSIBILITIES: Briefly describe the day-to-day role of this position (list no more than 6 to 10 tasks).
1. Facilitation of new product development through collaboration with: Program Management, Plant/Corporate Engineering, and Manufacturing teams. Key functions: control plans, PFMEAs, measurement systems analysis, capability studies and engineering changes.
2. Key decision maker and shop-floor driver of strategic management objectives, processes, plans and schedules to achieve goals (plant and corporate levels).
3. Work directly with both external (OEM) and internal (value add) customers to identify process/product failure modes; drive root cause investigations utilizing: 5-why, 8D, Ishikawa, Pareto analysis and IATF principals to verify internal quality system effectiveness.
4. Coordination with Field Services network to support fast-moving customer assembly processes; facilitation of action plans, countermeasures and support any 3rd party sort activities.
5. Work closely with Process Engineering and Technical teams to drive down internal scrap rates; improve overall process yields and promote defect recognition across organization.
6. The incumbent shall also identify any preventative action needs, conduct process audits and support operational excellence (continuous improvement) initiatives.
7. Must be detail oriented and capable of constructing formal presentations for customers, suppliers and management team utilizing charts, graphs and diagrams.
8. Maintenance of databases to effectively document quality complaints, warranty claims and customer KPIs and performance matrices.
9. Will be assigned more complex tasks requiring greater leadership, knowledge, skill, and expertise from time working in the position.
10. Travel to company facilities, customer automotive assembly plants or supplier sites as needed (less than 10% of time)
