Instructional Technology Specialist supports faculty members utilizing information technology in support of teaching and learning. Develops computer training materials and assists in teaching how to set up and use computer applications and related technologies. Being an Instructional Technology Specialist may troubleshoot technical problems and train junior staff members. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Instructional Technology Specialist typically reports to a manager. The Instructional Technology Specialist gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.     Description
    Under general direction, perform the setup, operation, and maintenance of computer labs, smart classrooms, peripherals, and other instructional equipment. Assist faculty and students with integration of technology into instruction. Receive limited supervision within a broad framework of standard District policies and procedures.

    Example of Duties
    • Will vary based upon assignment.
    • Demonstrate an understanding of, sensitivity to and appreciation for, the academic, ethnic, socio-economic, disability and gender diversity of students and staff attending or working on a community college campus.
    Qualifications

    Training, Experience and Education: Any combination of education, experience and training which would indicate possession of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to fulfill the requirements of the job. K nowledge of : skills and abilities relevant to the area as needed to fulfill requirements of the job. Ability to: work effectively with a wide variety of personalities and situations requiring diplomacy, tact, friendliness, poise and firmness; demonstrate skills associated with the job in assigned subject area; communicate satisfactorily in both oral and written form; establish and maintain effective work relationships with those contacted in the performance of required duties.
    Proof of Vaccination

    New employees may begin working in their assignments only after the district has received proof that the person is fully vaccinated or an exemption has been approved.

    A number of other institutions cooperate with Monterey Peninsula College in serving the postsecondary education demands of the Monterey Peninsula. Among those are California State University, Monterey Bay, Hopkins Marine Station of Stanford University, the Defense Language Institute, Middlebury Institute of International Studies, Monterey College of Law, and the Naval Postgraduate School. The College also enjoys a collaborative relationship with the Monterey County Business Council and the Monterey County Workforce Investment Board.

    MPC is partnering with Monterey Peninsula Unified School District and Pacific Grove Unified School District to offer college-level coursework in both academic and vocational tracks through its College and Career Access Pathways. MPC and CSU, Monterey Bay have collaborated in enrolling students in cohort-based programs in which students take classes at both MPC and CSU, Monterey Bay while earning a CSU, Monterey Bay degree.
