Title: Supply Chain Supplier Development

Description:
· This position is for an experienced Supply Chain Supplier Development role to join a growing aerospace team with (CLIENT). As an important part of the Supply Chain team here at CLIENT, you will actively be providing critical value to our customers by helping to ensure their suppliers deliver aerospace components to meet operational goals.
· This role will work with the CLIENT team, as well as our major aerospace customer, to improve supplier overall performance, manage and track improvement projects to resolve suppliers' performance issues, and work closely with the Collins team to understand pain points and high visibility concerns. Manage external stakeholders and supplier relationship management, collaboration with suppliers in the creation of robust continuous improvement plans, work with key cross functional stakeholders, external experts, and buyers. Identify and continually challenge supplier performance, develop productive relationships with internal stakeholder & supplier’s representatives to help shape the future and ongoing performance of the clients supply chain.
Primary Responsibilities
· Work with suppliers’ internal teams to coordinate procurement and shipment of critical aerospace components
· Monitor and document issues and barriers faced in day-to-day operations. Communicate status reports to CLIENT and customer leadership.
· Actively drive supplier accountability and success towards hitting delivery promise dates
· Conduct supplier rate assessments.
· Conduct supplier performance assessments. Track performance and improvement over time.
· Identify supplier risks and help drive risk mitigation plans.
· Provide recommendations for supplier improvements.
· Be empowered to execute supplier operational improvement initiatives
· Identify opportunities for continuous improvement to current supply chain customer processes, tools, trainings, etc
· Implement corrective action plans for any identified supplier process gaps
· Regularly present supplier performance progress, action items, challenges, risks, and progress to key internal and external stakeholders.
· Adhere to import, export, and procurement regulations.
· This role may require visits to the supplier location.
Basic Qualifications
· Bachelors degree a/o Associate’s degree and 8 year(s) of relevant experience
· Aerospace industry experience
· Must be a U.S. Citizen
· Previous experience as a supply chain specialist.
· Excellent knowledge of supply chain processes.
· Working experience of relevant software (e.g. SAP).
· Strong communication skills.
· Excellent organizational and project management skills
· Continuous improvement and creative problem-solving skills.
· A strategic and analytical mind.
Preferred Qualifications
· An understanding of engineering outsourcing business practices
· Knowledge of supply chain management
· Experience in procurement and/or contract management
· Exposure to project or program management
· Exposure to engineering and quality processes
· Knowledge of various manufacturing processes
· Knowledge of LEAN
· An ability to build positive intercompany relationships
· Outstanding communication and reporting skills
