Part-time Instructional Support Assistant - Health Information Technology

Responsibilities:

• Facilitating students in the process of obtaining placement for their professional practice experience (PPE), monitoring PPE contract process with Academic Support Assistant, monitoring student progress during completing of each PPE, and maintaining submitted PPE assignments.
• Assists faculty with new student on-boarding through Academic Advising Course.
• Creates and maintains Health Information Systems student folders and tracking forms.
• Maintain curriculum statistical and informational reports.
• Responsible for graduate and employer survey correspondence and maintaining survey results.
• Manages the registration process of the AHIMA virtual lab (VLab) for students.
• Assists Health Information Technology (HIT) faculty with course updates in LMS.
• Monitor and update noncredit ExamPrep courses.

Required:

• Associate degree in health information technology, or undergraduate degree in health information management from a CAHIIM-accredited academic program
• Registered Health Information Management Technician (RHIT) certification by the American Health Information Management Association or RHIT eligible.
• Experience with interacting effectively with colleagues, staff, students, and administrators.
• Experience with Microsoft Office products, to include Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.

Preferred:

• Work experience in a health information management (HIM) department in a healthcare facility
• Familiarity with online learning management system

Job Type: Part-time
