An Instructional Technology Coach provides leadership with growing and shifting teacher practices by using technology to improve student learning in high performing classrooms. The ITC will use coaching to support best instructional practices, access for all students, engage students in learning, and embed the Wisconsin Information & Technology literacy standards. The ITC will model impactful use of technology tools through professional development and provide follow up coaching support for implementation into classrooms.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Professional Leadership:
-Research, evaluate and share new instructional technology resources, including educational apps, emerging technologies, and digital devices through the curriculum review process
-Remain current in best practice and research about technology integration through organizational membership, conference attendance, professional learning networks
-Actively engage in blended and online learning planning and support for staff and students
-Participate as a member of the Information Technology improvement team
-Supervise & provide leadership to the ITL Aides in the Tech Depot
-Provide leadership & training for building level Tech GoTos
Technology Integration:
-Collaborate with other Instructional Coaches, District Technology Coordinator, Director of Teaching & Learning, K-12 Curriculum Coordinator, and Library Media System Specialist to plan sustained technology integration across the district
-Coach staff on the implementation of new & existing instructional technology resources & curriculum related software and ensure fidelity of implementation
-Provide individual, small group, large group instructional technology professional development
-Meet and coach teaching staff to ensure implementation of the Information & Technology Literacy standards embedded into curriculum design
-Participate in collaborative content/grade level team meetings with K-12 Curriculum Coordinator for the purpose of advancing the use of technology to support learning in the classroom
Teacher Technology Efficiencies:
-Provide support to staff in non-instructional technology necessary to perform their jobs (ie. gradebook, e-mail, etc.)
-Provide leadership in addressing the diverse skills and learning needs of teachers, staff, and administrators
-Create & publish software & hardware learning guides & tutorials for end-users
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree with Valid Wisconsin Teaching License
-Three (3) years highly successful teaching experience in a K-12 setting
-Understanding of Information & Technology Literacy (ITL) standards
-Experience with Google apps for education and educational applications connected to ITL standards
-Skilled with technology used in instructional settings to improve teaching and learning
-Understanding of blended and online learning best practices
-Experience designing & delivering staff development to adults including coaching in the classroom
-Strong interpersonal, collaboration and communication skills including ability to exchange information on multiple levels, e.g. students, teachers, administrators, district office, parents, public
-Knowledge of current research on educational technology and research-based instructional practice
