Instructor - Accounting teaches courses in the discipline area of accounting. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Instructor - Accounting provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Instructor - Accounting typically reports to a department head. Has a Master's degree or is a PhD candidate in the applicable field. Has experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate level and possesses the qualifications to participate in research. Capital CFO a woman-owned business, providing outsourced business management solutions for businesses and nonprofits, seeks a Director of Accounting. The Director of Accounting ensures that all bookkeepers and CFOs perform all work related to client contract accurately and in a timely manner (30%). Acting as an internal resource for staff, the Director of Accounting provides clear communication, guidance and accounting best practices internally. The Director of Accounting also works with a roster of clients (70%).
Duties:
- Manage regular meetings of CFO and bookkeeping staff to coordinate client work, manage performance, and ensure continuity of service for clients
- Review and create financial statements for client accounts
- Meet regularly with CFOs to coordinate client work, manage performance, and ensure continuity of service for clients
- Interview and assess candidates for CFO and bookkeeping positions as part of the hiring process
- Act as CFO for a roster of client accounts
- Assess organizational processes with eye toward efficiency, effectiveness and execution
- Represent Capital CFO management internally and externally
- Other duties as assigned
- Two years experience as Chief Financial Officer or Controller
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- Proficiency in QuickBooks online and desktop
- Proficiency in MS Excel
- Supervisory experience
- Journal entry preparation and account reconciliations
- Accounting and corporate finance
- Attention to detail and strong organization skills
- Deadline-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Confidentiality
- Time management with the ability to multi-task
- Complying with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions
