The Accounting Manager will manage Restaurant Accounting including, but not limited to, processing of unit sales, cash, and inventory.

Key Job Responsibilities:

• Manage Restaurant Accounting including recruitment, training and development of staff to ensure accuracy of sales, cash, and inventory.
• Conduct seminars for District Managers and Restaurant Managers in regards to understanding Accounting reports.
• Review Performance Reports to ensure food, paper, premium, and labor variances are accurate.
• Respond to District Supervisor’s and/or Unit Manager’s concerns regarding variances and make appropriate adjustments to Performance Reports.
• Respond to questions/concerns of Managers/District Supervisors regarding contents of financial reports.
• Review calculations of District Supervisors and Managers incentives accurately to ensure proper payment.
• Record monthly unit journal entries
• Review reconciliations of balance sheet accounts related to RA activity (petty cash, adv/roy, inventory, etc.).
• Interpret all Franchise Agreements for proper monthly Advertising and Royalty calculations and management of various ITP or BKC incentive programs for all Carrols existing and newly acquired restaurants. Interact with BKC as required.
• Coordinate the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual forecasts and budgets for all commodity costs and advertising and royalties for Burger King units
• Perform cost of sales variance analysis to forecasts and prior periods for Burger King units.
• Monitor and process month-end functions in PeopleSoft, such as allocations, PPV, standard costs, and product costs.
• Calculate any selling price change effect and make necessary adjustments to Price Indexes
•  Maintain Quarterly SOX narratives for all controls pertaining to Restaurant Accounting.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

• 4-year degree in Accounting or related area required.
• 5 plus years experience managing Accounting Department and supervision required.
• Knowledge of laws regulating Accounting administration required.
• Knowledge of restaurant operations desired.

The salary range for this position is $75,000 to $100,000 per year depending on experience. Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, and alignment with market data.
