Instructor - Biology jobs in Austin, TX

The Department of Biology at Southwestern University invites applications for a part-time appointment in biology for the spring 2024 semester. Responsibilities include teaching one section of a 7-week sophomore level Methods in Cellular/Molecular Biology course (from January-March) and one section of an introductory biology lab (full semester). The introductory biology lab has a maximum of 24 students and the Methods course has a maximum of 16 students. Biology faculty are available as resources and to provide support for the instructor in this position. There are no mandatory service or research expectations with this teaching position. The instructor will be invited to join (if they wish) all pedagogical and student-engagement activities hosted by the department. Teaching experience at Southwestern has often been helpful for those interested in entering the tenure-track job market. The successful candidate should have at least a Master’s degree with 18 graduate credits completed in Biology; preference will be given to candidates with a PhD.
