Role: Director of System Administration
Location: Montgomery, AL (On-Site)

In this pivotal role, you will lead and manage a team of 3-5 system administrators, while also maintaining your technical expertise and actively contributing to critical system administration tasks. You will be a visionary leader, crafting a clear IT strategy and roadmap to ensure the smooth operation and continuous improvement of our IT infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

• Leadership:
  • Provide strategic direction and vision for the System Administration team.
  • Oversee the performance and development of team members.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
  • Mentor and coach team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
• Technical Expertise:
  • Design, implement, and manage complex enterprise-grade systems.
  • Ensure system security, performance, availability, and scalability.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest technologies and industry best practices.
  • Implement new technologies and solutions to enhance IT infrastructure.
• Planning & Strategy:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive IT strategy aligned with business objectives.
  • Forecast IT resource needs and manage budgets effectively.
  • Develop disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure IT initiatives support business goals.
• Communication & Collaboration:
  • Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Foster strong relationships with internal stakeholders and vendors.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 10 years of experience in system administration with a proven track record of success in a leadership role.
• In-depth knowledge of enterprise-grade operating systems, networking concepts, and security principles.
• Experience with virtualization technologies, cloud computing, and storage solutions (a plus).
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Passion for technology and staying current with industry trends.
