Instructor - Business Administration teaches courses in the discipline area of business administration and management. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Instructor - Business Administration provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Instructor - Business Administration typically reports to a department head. Full-time, non-tenured track, (10-month) faculty position to teach classroom, hybrid, and online accounting and business-related courses. Instructor must meet requirements for teaching both Accounting and Business Administration courses. Teaching assignments may be located in Highlands, Hardee, or DeSoto counties as needed. Position begins Fall (August 2024).
Duties and Responsibilities:
Educational: Minimum of a Master's degree in Accounting from a regionally accredited institution with 18 graduate semester hours in business courses (or 18 graduate semester hours in accounting and a Master's degree in Business Administration) required.
(Candidates who meet the criteria for accounting or business Master's degrees and have significant graduate coursework in the other discipline, may be considered if completion of the required 18 graduate semester hours is imminent.)
OR in lieu of the educational requirements listed above: Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in accounting or business with significant industry experience (5-7 years) combined with industry certifications (such as a CPA, CMA, CIA, CFE, or EA) may substitute.
Preference will be given to those with accounting industry experience or certifications. Doctorate in accounting or business preferred.

Experiential: Minimum of five years of work experience in accounting and/or business required. Preference given to those with accounting experience. Experience with QuickBooks, tax software, data analysis, and enterprise resource planning systems preferred. Ability to teach a wide range of accounting and business-related courses (Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, QuickBooks, Business Law, and Entrepreneurship) required.
Other: Post-secondary teaching and distance learning modality (Zoom, Blackboard, Canvas) as well as experience in developing relevant courses and curriculum development preferred.
