SUMMARY:
The Chemistry Instructor will be responsible for teaching undergraduate chemistry lecture and laboratory courses. The applicant will be expected to primarily teach lower division courses, such as Chemistry and Society, Principles of Chemistry, and General Chemistry Lab, with the potential to teach upper division laboratory courses, such as Organic Chemistry Lab. As part of the standard teaching load, the instructor will be responsible for some of the organization and preparation of their lab courses.
The standard teaching load is 12 credit hours per semester; with the exception of emergencies, courses will be in-person, but the successful candidate may also have options for online, hybrid, or distance delivery modalities.
This position will begin in January 2023.

Required:

A Master's Degree or PhD in Chemistry or closely related discipline by Spring 2023

Ability and desire to effectively teach undergraduate chemistry lecture and lab courses

Enthusiasm for working with and inspiring undergraduate students at all levels

Ability to communicate and to work collaboratively and collegially with colleagues
Preferred:

Completed Master's Degree or PhD in Chemistry or closely related discipline by Spring 2023

Experience teaching chemistry lecture and laboratory courses

Experience working with diverse populations and cultivating an inclusive classroom environment
