Pelham Prep Academy has a vacancy for a Chemistry teacher for high school (Grades 9-12).

Pelham Prep Academy is a NYC Department of Education public high school located in the Pelham Parkway neighborhood of the Bronx, NY, Pelham Preparatory Academy serves an extremely diverse population of students.

As a Teacher at Pelham Prep You Will:

• Be part of a collaborative team that holds onto the belief that all students are capable of learning, excelling, and reaching their potential.
• Develop strong relationships with parents, students, and school community to help foster a positive school climate.
• Create units, lessons, and assessments that are reflective of students interests, identities, histories and ways of learning.
• Build a warm, nurturing, and inspiring classroom environment that is culturally responsive and that aims to develop a student’s love for learning.
• Use both qualitative and quantitative data to differentiate and reflect on your instruction.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Education or related field (Master's degree preferred but not mandatory)
• Valid teaching certification or license
• Strong knowledge of Chemistry
• Excellent classroom management skills
• Ability to create engaging lesson plans and instructional materials that are culturally responsive
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills

Pay: $64,444.50 - $138,771.87 per year
