The Plumbing and Pipefitting Technology Instructor position in the Division of Industrial Technologies and Professional Services and will report to the Dean. The instructor will prepare and deliver lectures and/or lab course material; prepare lesson plans for classroom instruction; evaluates students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives; will prepare and maintain all required documentation and administrative reports; will ensure that safety and security requirements are met in the training area; will display a high level of effort and commitment to performing work; operate effectively within the organizational structure; demonstrate trustworthiness and responsible behavior; assist with recruitment retention and job placement efforts. Will perform other job assignments and duties assigned by Dean.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate’s degree from a national or regionally accredited college or university in plumbing, mechanical engineering or a related field. 3 to 5 years as a Plumbing Service & Repair Technician in commercial and/or residential plumbing.
Must demonstrate excellent written and oral communications and interpersonal skills. Also, must be able to teach morning or evening classes based on program needs.

Preferred Qualifications:
Master Plumber’s License or a Baccalaureate Degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of ten years’ experience in the plumbing trade preferred. Journeyman Plumber’s License. OSHA trainer certification also preferred.
Knowledge of Blackboard (Learning Management System) is desirable. Experience in hybrid and/or virtual instruction or courses
Knowledge of NCCER (National Center for Construction Education and Research) plumbing curriculum and standards
Experience in teaching/advising/mentoring college-level students with broad, diverse backgrounds is also desired.
