Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Instructor - Civil Engineering typically reports to a department head. Has a Master's degree or is a PhD candidate in the applicable field. Has experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate level and possesses the qualifications to participate in research.     Essential Job Functions:

    • Planning, implementing, and managing civil engineering projects
    • Developing proposals – management of proposals including cost estimate and proposal preparation, reviewing of invoicing and collections
    • Preparing and managing budgets and contract administration
    • Supervises and monitors client relationship strategies.  Serves as the primary client contact for one or more clients. 
    • Direct and supervise other engineers’ activities – may perform duties of a supervisor or department manager.
    • Prepares or directs preparation and modification of reports, specifications, plans, construction documents, studies, permits, and designs for various projects.

    Education/Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited four-year college or university
    • 8 years’ experience
    • Registered Professional Engineer in Illinois
    • Knowledge of industry-standard computer software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Estimating/Project Management type software
