Instructor - Civil Engineering teaches courses in the discipline area of civil engineering. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Instructor - Civil Engineering provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Instructor - Civil Engineering typically reports to a department head. Has a Master's degree or is a PhD candidate in the applicable field. Has experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate level and possesses the qualifications to participate in research. STARTING SALARY DEPENDS ON EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
We would consider an Engineer In Training (EIT), starting to mid-career Engineer, or a Professional Engineer (PE) with years of experience.
Responsibilities:
- Utilize AutoCAD, Revit, RISA.
- Performs earthwork calculations, storm water management, sedimentation control, road & site design.
- Engineering work involves self-managing and assuring the assigned projects are carried through to completion.
- Engineering work will involve grading, hydrology, hydraulics, drafting, report preparation, road & site design, erosion & sediment control design, and structural engineering.
- Engineer In Training (EIT) will perform all above responsibilities under the supervision of a Professional Engineer (PE).
Qualifications:
- BS in Civil Engineering
- Experience using Civil 3D or AutoCAD software
- Must have good time/budget management skills.
- Communication skills are required for client and interoffice communication and reporting.
- Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel software.
- Experience with grading tools, corridors, pipe networks, etc. is a plus!
- Experience using Revit & RISA is a plus!
