Instructor - Civil Engineering teaches courses in the discipline area of civil engineering. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Instructor - Civil Engineering provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Instructor - Civil Engineering typically reports to a department head. Has a Master's degree or is a PhD candidate in the applicable field. Has experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate level and possesses the qualifications to participate in research.     Full-Time Probationary Fall 2024

    Minimum Qualifications:
    BS in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology from and accredited University. Two years of previous teaching experience in the field of engineering or engineering technology.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience teaching online, hybrid, or in person classes. MS in a related field.

    DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES:
    •    Provide classroom instruction in Civil Engineering lab and lecture rooms.
    •    Evaluate student performance and complete assessments as required by the College.
    •    Collaborate with colleagues on course and program development as well as transfer course review.
    •    Participate in departmental, division wide, and/or college wide committees.
    •    At the direction of the Department Chairperson, faculty shall perform duties as specified in the Faculty Contract.

    The Salary for this position is $48,981.00. This is a 10-month position (151 workdays). In addition to the
    baseline salary, there is the potential for additional compensation through voluntary overload teaching.
