    Location: Taconic Biosciences is seeking an Internal Communication Specialist to join our dedicated Administration team in this hybrid position. This position will work 50% remote and 50% onsite at our Rensselaer, NY site each week.

    The Pay Range: $65,000 - $75,000. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors. These factors include, but are not limited to, geographic location, experience, training, education, and local market conditions, with this the upper end of the range is not always likely to be offered.

    The Role: The Internal Communication Specialist serves as the primary facilitator of employee communications and engagement initiatives, fostering a cohesive work environment where all team members feel connected and valued. Reporting to the Director of Administration with a dotted line to the CEO, this role requires discretion in handling confidential information and a proactive approach to supporting the Taconic Leadership Team.

    Core Responsibilities:
    • Build and maintain communities among remote and flex team members through virtual events, communities, and communications channels.
    • Enhance CEO, CFO, and CCO visibility and engagement with employees across the organization.
    • Communicate organizational updates and information via Taconic's intranet and other relevant channels.
    • Collaborate closely with the CEO to ensure alignment with organizational objectives and priorities.
    • Plan and develop presentations, including PowerPoint decks, for CEO-led meetings and events.
    • Coordinate closely with the Marketing Staff to align communication efforts.
    • Assist the CEO and Leadership Team with administrative tasks, including calendar management, expense reports, and travel arrangements.
    • Organize and facilitate corporate-level meetings, such as Taconic Kick Off, Board of Directors sessions, and leadership retreats.
    • Negotiate contracts for hotel accommodations and event venues as needed.
    • Support regular monthly and quarterly meetings, including Monthly Operating Reviews and Leadership Team Strategic Discussions.
    • Ensure events are well-organized, within budget, and effectively communicated to attendees.
    • Proficiently use Microsoft Office 365 tools, including Word, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, and social media platforms.
    • Provide supervision and guidance to administrative and temporary clerical staff as necessary.
    • Serve as backup support to the Director of Administration when required.
    Education and Experience:
    • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, preferably in Business Administration, Communications, Marketing, or related field; or bachelor’s degree with business courses or technical/managerial experience at an equivalent level.
    • 4 years’ experience and/or training.
    • Experience in developing and leading projects.
    • Previous supervisory experience preferred.
    • Excellent listening skills with the ability to empathize and understand diverse communication styles and viewpoints.
    • Demonstrated ability to draft technical reports, management summaries, and external-facing documents with clarity and professionalism.
    • Proficient in presenting information effectively to both internal and external stakeholders, handling complex inquiries or complaints with finesse.
    • Strong collaboration and influencing skills, with the ability to engage with senior management, community leaders, and officials to advance organizational interests.
    • Ability to manage complex discussions with discretion, strategic thinking, and timely decision-making.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and self-initiative to manage unexpected issues.
    • Capacity to interpret technical information and handle multiple variables effectively.
    Travel: 
    Occasional travel is required, generally 2-5 trips per year. Overnight travel may be necessary.
