Classes as assigned by the Division Dean based on need, enrollment, and availability of contracted and/or more senior part-time faculty. Continuation of position is contingent upon available assignments and budget.

Master's degree in speech, Communication Studies, or a related discipline from a regionally accredited institution.

One (1) or more years of full-time teaching (or part-time equivalent) within the past five (5) years.

To teach a variety of communications courses as assigned. Participate in departmental and other professional activities on- and off-campus. Teach in a learning environment that puts students first. This may also include online courses.

Faculty report to a Department or Division Dean, and perform instruction-related duties and responsibilities in a timely manner and in accordance with the mission, policies and procedures of the college:

This position works indoors and is exposed to usual office working conditions that includes office noises and interruptions, such as printers, telephones, and visitors.

Position requires that an employee be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time; perform computer work in the form of word processing, data entry, spreadsheet work, and web-based research for more than seven (7) hours a day.

Employees in this position may work with individuals who demonstrate inappropriate or abusive behavior. Work involves concentrated mental and visual attention for sustained periods of time. Work may require transporting materials up to twenty-five (25) pounds.

Lane was founded in 1964 by a vote of local citizens, and the main campus opened in 1968. The college was a successor to the Eugene Technical-Vocational School that was founded in 1938.
