Position Title: Communication: Instructor/ Director of Collegiate Forensics

Responsibilities:
The Department of Communication at The University of Louisiana at Lafayette invites applications for the position of Director of Collegiate Forensics, at the rank of Instructor. This is a continuing, non-tenure-track position to begin in August 2023. The successful candidate will be an expert in American Forensics Association, National Forensics Association and Pi Kappa Delta style competition. The expected teaching load is 4-4, which includes the coaching activity.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate holds at least a Master’s Degree in Communication or a related area, previous debate coaching experience, and is willing to travel to debate meets several times a semester. Teaching experience at the college level is a plus. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in administrative duties for the debate team, such as budget management, travel logistics, student recruitment, etc. Candidates must be committed to working effectively with diverse student populations and to fostering a diverse educational environment through their teaching and/or service activities.
