Instructor - Communication teaches courses in the discipline area of communication. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Instructor - Communication provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Instructor - Communication typically reports to a department head. Has a Master's degree or is a PhD candidate in the applicable field. Has experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate level and possesses the qualifications to participate in research.     Summary

    Communication Specialist communicates with patients, customers, staff, providers, and others while using various computer programs. Responsible for directing all calls, activating codes, making overhead announcements, and other duties as assigned.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Supports and promotes the mission and values of Covenant Health Ministry.
    • Receives and makes calls in a professional manner
    • Processes internal and external calls with patients, customers, providers, and others
    • Receive and process calls for Physician Answer Service in a timely manner
    • Activates emergency codes and internal overhead announcements
    • Prioritizes incoming calls
    • Provides exemplary customer service with all interactions.
    • Other duties as consistent with this role.

    Job Requirements

     

    Job Knowledge and Skills

    • Strong interpersonal skills and customer service experience

     

    Education and Experience

    • Call center, operator, or telecommunications experience preferred
    • Moderate typing ability and computer skills preferred

    An equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed above may be substituted for the above education and experience requirements.

    Working Conditions/Physical Demands

    Must possess the physical and mental abilities to perform the tasks normally associated with this position that involves a combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching. Occasional lifting/carrying up to 25 lbs.  Some stress related to high level of responsibility for quality care.
