Being an Instructor - Computer Science provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Instructor - Computer Science typically reports to a department head. We seek candidates who will bring to the position enthusiasm for computer science, a commitment to fostering an equitable and inclusive learning environment for all students in the classroom, and willingness to teach multiple courses within the curriculum. Candidates must be comfortable in designing curriculum both independently and as part of a teaching team and must be familiar with current uses of technology in the teaching of computer science. Willingness and enthusiasm for working closely with students, both inside and outside the classroom, and adapting to their individual learning styles are essential to success in the position. We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in Java, Python, databases, web development tools, app design, cybersecurity, and/or artificial intelligence; however, we also value experience in other computer science fields given the ever-evolving nature of this discipline. This position includes teaching AP Computer Science A and courses in data structures and data analytics work with advanced students in the discipline. Versatility across the curriculum, including the potential of teaching other STEM related disciplines is preferable, but not required. We seek candidates who will support and promote the department's ongoing work to diversify and expand our curricular offerings.
