The Alabama School of Mathematics and Science (ASMS), a public residential high school serving talented students from across the state, seeks a full-time instructor to teach a range of history and social science classes. We seek the best fit for our students and organization and see this as an opportunity. The position will teach highly motivated high school students in an advanced college prep program. The successful candidate will develop and implement an instruction program consistent with state guidelines but attentive to the needs of academically talented students. Courses at ASMS are taught at the college freshman or sophomore level or higher. The teaching load for this position will include a variety of history, social science, and cultural studies courses such as: World History, AP World History, and other courses, including advanced electives. Requirements: Master’s degree in history or closely related field. Preferred: Ph.D. and teaching experience. Excellent state benefits package and competitive salary.
