Instructor - Computer Science teaches courses in the discipline area of computer and information sciences. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Instructor - Computer Science provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Instructor - Computer Science typically reports to a department head. The Computer Science and Technology department is seeking a technologically diverse individual who can teach a variety of courses within the department. The primary responsibilities consist of teaching lecture and lab components in one or more of the following areas: Computer Information Technology, Networking, Programming, Cybersecurity, and Web Development courses. CST Instructors are involved with laboratory maintenance and are also active in student and club advisement.
This position requires a wide range of professional responsibilities and activities, including participation in curriculum and course development, departmental planning, attendance at department and college meetings, participation on department and Governance committees, student advising and other duties as assigned.
This instructor is expected to participate in College and Departmental assessment initiatives.
Teaching assignments may be on the Middletown or Newburgh campus or both as well as off campus sites, day or evening.
Education Required: Master's Degree in Technology or related discipline.
