Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Instructor - Dentistry provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Instructor - Dentistry typically reports to a department head. Has a Master's degree or is a PhD candidate in the applicable field. Has experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate level and possesses the qualifications to participate in research. Responsibilities:
- Provide thorough examinations to determine overall dental health and evaluate patients for signs of gum disease, cavities, and infection
- Diagnose and treat dental problems including root canals, extractions, and restoration
- Perform dental care treatments including x-rays, fillings, sealants, and cosmetic dental services
- Consult with other dental specialists when necessary
- Provide education to patients on oral hygiene and use of orthodontics and dental appliances
- Adhere to strict health and safety guidelines
- DDS (Doctor of Dental Surgery) or DMD (Doctor of Dental Medicine) degree from an ADA-accredited dental school is required
- Board Certified and/or Board Eligible in General Dentistry
- Current New Jersey state license
- Previous experience in clinical or private practice
- Deep understanding of dental standards and dental medicine trends
- Excellent bedside manner
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
