Instructor - Drama teaches courses in the discipline area of drama. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Instructor - Drama provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Instructor - Drama typically reports to a department head. Heavy Work - Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and / or up to 20 pounds of force constantly having to move objects.
Positions in this class typically include talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, walking and repetitive motions, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching, plus climbing and balancing.
Occasional exposure to unpleasant environmental conditions and / or hazards. Occasional outside work. Occasional physical effort required.
Requirements
Associate degree in related field from an accredited institution required. Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited institution, preferred.
Minimum of two (2) years related health care work experience in the chosen clinical field of practice, in simulation technology / education, general education or information technology required.
Teaching experience at community college level desired, preferably in health care education.
Licenses and Certifications
Current Texas license and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and / or Pediatric advanced Life Support (PALS) provider certification preferred.
This position is generally limited to working a maximum of 19.5 hours per week. (Maximum hours for employees with more than one part-time position at Collin College may vary.)
Equivalency Language
An additional two (2) years of health care work experience may be substituted for the education requirement.
