    TYPE OF APPOINTMENT: Full-time, 9-month faculty position in the NDSCS Performing Arts and Communication Department.

    JOB SUMMARY:
    Primary instructional responsibilities include teaching Public Speaking, Interpersonal Communication, and Intercultural Communication. Other duties include curriculum development & revision, student advisement, student recruitment activities, committee participation, assessment of student learning, and related departmental and college responsibilities. The successful applicant will be expected to embrace the use of technology, as it relates to teaching and learning, and must be highly motivated, self-directed, and able to analyze and solve problems while working effectively in a team-centered management atmosphere.

    SALARY: Starting at $53,668, commensurate with education and experience

    Minimum Requirements

    • Must support the mission, vision, and values of NDSCS
    • Master’s degree in Communication or a related field.
    • Experience teaching with technology.
    • Computer literacy including word processing and e-mail.
    • Two years of teaching experience.
    • Demonstrated competence in subject matter.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
    • Motivated, self-directed, and able to work effectively and professionally with students and staff in a team setting.
    • Ability to articulate and support the two-year postsecondary college philosophy with a strong commitment to teaching and learning in a two-year college setting.a

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Successful college teaching experience.
    • Experience with or willingness to develop and/or teach courses online or other distance delivery methods.
    • Experience with Blackboard or another LMS.
    • Experience with course and program assessment.
