Job Responsibilities of a Part-Time ESL Instructor
● Deliver curriculum in interactive ways
● Promote, encourage and be an example of the use of the communicative method in ESL instruction
● Inform Academic Coordinator of classroom and student management issues
● Prepare effective lesson plans and Grade tests
● Ensure effective application of curriculum/syllabi/materials
● Check daily rosters and keep student attendance
● Organize relevant class field trips
● Participate in curriculum development activities, as needed, including accreditation and certification submissions, annual review, academic planning and review, needs analyses, surveys, etc
● Perform administrative tasks to ensure program functionality and success
● Keep organized records and maintain an orderly and secure filing system
● Participate in conducting student surveys.
Qualifications of a Part-Time ESL Instructor
● Bachelor's degree, preferably related to international education
● At least 1 year of teaching English as a second language to adults.
● Special consideration is given to prospective instructors with additional experience teaching abroad, ESL program administration, and/or curriculum design
● A comprehensive knowledge of second language acquisition, language-teaching methodologies, and curriculum/lesson planning
