Western Nebraska Community College is accepting applications for a part-time Adult Education Instructor in Chadron, Nebraska. This position will work up to 28 hours per week. Day and evening hours available, with flexible work hours.
Responsibilities: Responsible for accurate assessment (CASAS testing), instruction, and outcomes for student performance. Take an active role in student data collection to include student attendance hours. Actively participate in the registration, career pathways intake, and orientation process for students. Plan and deliver high-quality, evidence-based instruction. Effectively communicate to motivate and engage learners. Participate in and contributes to program improvement efforts, curriculum development, evaluation, and attend staff meetings as required. Assess the relevancy and impact of various lessons; revise and improve lesson format; evaluate a variety of instructional material; select books to be used for assigned instructional classes. Model an understanding of diversity. Design instruction to build learners’ higher-order thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills using instructional techniques that are effective with adult learners.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and teaching experience preferred or a combination of education, experience, and certifications that demonstrates the candidate is capable of teaching the academic content. Possession of, or the ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record that does not exclude the driver from coverage under WNCC’s vehicle insurance is required.
Salary: $19 per hour.
Start Date: Negotiable.
