Being an Instructor - Education provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Instructor - Education typically reports to a department head. GENERAL FUNCTIONS:
Functions as a Driver Education Instructor in a classroom setting, providing instruction in driver education theory and application. Facilitates learning experiences in highway transportation system, pre-driving checks and procedures; basic care maneuvers; division making, driving laws; highway conditions; vehicle performance; system failures; drivers' performance; and career opportunities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A Bachelor Degree and two years of teaching experience. One year as driver education instructor and experience teaching at risk youth.
LICENSE OR CERTIFICATIONS:
A State Teacher's Certification and a valid regular diver license are required.
