Has a Master's degree or is a PhD candidate in the applicable field. Has experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate level and possesses the qualifications to participate in research. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:- Travels throughout the State.
- Communicates effectively using American Sign Language
- Facilitates regular training sessions in a class setting and one-to-one.
- Provide support services remotely when needed.
POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:- Implements and coordinates a driver’s education program to support Deaf and HOH individuals in studying for the written driver’s test.
- Provide support to enroll in the driver’s test held regionally across the state.
- Coordinates interpreting services and acts as an advocate in the local DMV offices.
- Effectively manages a caseload of clients.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:- Bachelor’s degree in teaching or Deaf education preferred or other relevant education/experience.
- Must be able to effectively communicate fluently in ASL.
- Strong communication skills with Deaf individuals with limited ASL experience.
- Must be comfortable working in a class setting or one on one.
- Possess a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.
- Outstanding organizational skills to be able to manage a caseload of clients efficiently.
- Requires someone who can work independently with minimal supervision.
