Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Instructor - Electrical Engineering typically reports to a department head. Has a Master's degree or is a PhD candidate in the applicable field. Has experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate level and possesses the qualifications to participate in research.     Orbital Engineering Inc. is seeking an experienced Electrical Designer to support one of our Industrial Clients in the Greater Toledo, OH area. This person will perform specific technical functions of investigation, evaluation, design, calculation, and specification. There is the opportunity for this role to be done partially remote/hybrid for the right candidate.

     QUALIFICATIONS

    • Defines scope for designers and monitors drawing development.
    • Obtains site data and vendor information. Functions as Project Leader.
    • Works under minimal supervision and performs engineering tasks
    • Coordinates large assignments with accountability for budget adherence, quality control, and inter-discipline coordination.
    • Makes decisions individually on design problems, practices, and methods.
    • Understands other discipline's requirements and relates them to own electrical discipline and project scope.
    • Prepares studies and schematic/conceptual designs for new systems and analyzes operation of existing systems.
    • Works with code officials, and other design professionals, to analyze codes
    • Assigns and reviews work for project design team. Reviews progress of work and alerts project manager to changes of scope or additional services.
    • Writes scope of work for design based on preliminary review and meetings with external customers.
    • Review portions, or entire, completed drawings.
    • May serve in chosen discipline as technical specialist requiring highly specialized knowledge and skills

     

    REQUIREMENTS

    • 10 years of electrical design experience for heavy industrial clients
    • Ability to supervise personnel in accordance with company rules and policies and in compliance with the applicable labor requirements.
    • AS Degree in engineering is preferred but not required
