Being an Instructor - Foreign Languages provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Instructor - Foreign Languages typically reports to a department head. Has a Master's degree or is a PhD candidate in the applicable field. Has experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate level and possesses the qualifications to participate in research.     Duties and Responsibilities

    1. To teach basic language skill courses in the target language. Maintain office hours and work with other language programs in integrating teaching efforts. Languages include Arabic, Bengali, Cambodian, Chamorro, Filipino, Hindi, Ilokano, Indonesian, Maori, Samoan, Sanskrit, Tahitian, Thai, Tongan, Urdu and Vietnamese.
     
    Minimum Qualifications
    1. B.A. with emphasis on Education/Bilingual Education, Linguistics, ESL, Second Language/Foreign Language Teaching, or closely related fields; high level oral and written fluency in target language and English.
     
    Desirable Qualifications
    1. Demonstrated evidence of successful teaching; university level teaching experience of the target language; experience in target language curriculum development; evidence of prior or pending research and/or publications on target language.
