Job Duties:
SKYCTC Upward Bound Math & Science program is seeking a part-time, temporary Foreign Language Instructor for its Summer Academy program June 2 - July 5. The Foreign Language Instructor will teach various levels of one foreign language to include, but not limited to Spanish, French, American Sign Language, or Chinese.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:
• Preparing course plans and materials.
• Design grade-appropriate curriculum based on Kentucky state standards of learning.
• Delivering in-seat courses to high school students grades 9-12.
• Evaluating student progress.
• Provide tutoring as needed.
• Teach two – three sections Monday-Thursday (virtually and in-person)
• Attend instructor meetings.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must have a bachelor’s degree in STEM, education, counseling, or related field, and a minimum of one year teaching experience. The ability to meet deadlines, work under pressure, and adjust to changing priorities is necessary. Must be able to work a flexible schedule that includes both daytime and evening hours.
